Yes! Whether you’re decorating indoor or outdoor, we can help.

Do you stock primer?

Yes! We have everything you need to get your project started and finished.

Do you stock undercoats?

Yes! You'll find everything you need in store to take your project from fruition to completion.

Should I use a roller or paint brush?

For painting large surfaces, a roller will make the job much easier and help you to avoid visible brush strokes. For intricate or small areas, a brush will be best.

If you have any more questions about your decorating job, don't hesitate to ask one of our colleagues for advice.

Do I need to use a primer?

If you are painting bare wood outside, a primer is strongly recommended to go under your undercoat layer in order to protect the wood from the elements.

Do I need to use an undercoat?

If you are painting bare wood, an undercoat is essential in order to protect the wood and create a professional looking finish.

Are primer and undercoat the same thing?

Traditionally, primer and undercoat were two separate products and layers to be applied before gloss on wood. However, these days a combined ‘primer undercoat’ product is more common and gives you the benefits of both whilst creating less work for you!

How can I increase the shelf life of my paint?

Most paint can be safely stored for several years and the shelf life of paint can be greatly increased by storing it correctly. Here are some tips on how to store opened paint:

  • Keep in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight
  • Minimise exposure to heat and humidity
  • Make sure to reseal the container after each use - lightly tap the rim of the lid with a hammer to push the lid back in and make it airtight
  • Mix the paint well before each use
  • Store paint the correct way up, never lie the tin on its side
  • Last but certainly not least, keep out of reach of children

Do you sell paint tester pots or samples?

Unfortunately, due to limited space in store, we do not stock tester paint pots or samples. Our colleagues will be more than happy to advise you on choosing a colour.

Do you mix paints?

Unfortunately, we don’t have space in store to mix paints. You’re best off visiting a decorating centre to make sure you get the colour of your dreams.
